Project Prep and Finished Results

Hello! I have spent most of this last weekend as well as today preparing some fiber and supplies for an upcoming hand dyed project. This left me with just a few other projects to share besides the main one I’ll most likely post about on Thursday or Friday. Anyways, yesterday was a great day to be a crafty person for myself. I had some extra oven bake clay from a project a few years back lying around and decided to make a Diz out of it. A Diz is a really nifty fiber prep tool to have if you have general hand pain while spinning and drafting normally. You just take one end of the fiber and draft it through the preferred sized hole before you spin. That way there is less drafting done while you’re on the machine. Once I made the Diz, spinning the 3rd skein of yarn was a dream! I don’t think I’ve ever been this proud of a D.I.Y project until now haha. Lastly, I turned my Malabrigo roving into hand spun yarn, and then into a messy bun beanie. Compared to my drop spindle projects I’ve crocheted from the first fiber haul, this hat is far more structurally reliable than the last ones. A big win in my book. Well, that’s all I have for this post. Bye for now :).

Sass served with every stitch ;)

Nice. You know I love things like that. Home built tools are the BEST.
