New Skill Unlocked

Hello! I’ve been up to quite a lot lately. I’ve acquired a 16″ rigid heddle loom over Christmas. This has led to lots of weaving and scarfs. I thought I’d show as best I could, the process of warping the loom and weaving. The main things to remember when reading the picture captions are 1.Warp Yarn/Warp Threads are the vertical threads on the loom. 2.Weft Yarn/Weft threads/Picks are the horizontal threads going back and forth. Finally, 3.A heddle is the bar in the center of the loom. It has dents/slots and holes that separate the threads from each other. You move the bar up and down to reveal different groups of threads to weave in and out of. That should be the basics, but I will try and make a more thorough post of the complete weaving process in the future. The rest of the photos are the scarfs completed from December 26th to January 15th. There are also two table runners I’ve completed over that timeframe, but I have yet to snag photos. So, the pictures will be posted alongside the complete weaving process post. Other than weaving almost every day since Christmas, I’ve been well. I have also spun up a few skeins of yarn since the last post. Hope You enjoy the new before and afters too. Well, that’s all I have for this post. Bye for now :).

Sass served with every stitch ;)
