Hello, and happy Father’s Day to everyone who has a special someone to celebrate today! Just wanted to show off the latest dye projects and my first art yarn attempt. I’m also including a short timelapse video of me spinning. Hopefully the video works just fine. If not though, feel free to leave a comment. The colors I dyed the roving unfortunately did not turn out how I had initially hoped, but I don’t think it turned out bad either. The 2nd skeins consistency turned out much better than the first skeins which was neat. I think it’s pretty cool to see the difference in how they look against one another. The cable yarn was super fun to make. Definitely not perfect, but you can tell it’s very different from a regular 2 ply skein. It also took a lot longer to make than I anticipated, but worth it in the end. In the video, I’m just starting a new bobbin with some freshly split roving to make a 2 ply yarn. It’s the first step to accomplish any handspun yarn. Since the video is a timelapse, what you see in those 26 seconds is about 5-10 minutes of real time. Spinning goes by quickly for me currently haha. Well, that’s all I have for this post. Bye for now :).
