Hello! I’m so excited that I have a lot of new fiber I’ve gotten to spin up lately. The fiber is all solid colors, so I also get to build my own color scheme instead of buying pre dyed fiber with a pre picked color scheme. I got plenty of undyed roving as well, that way I can practice my yarn/fiber dyeing techniques. The mini test skeins I made were mostly to get a feel for how this new fiber spins up, and how I should prepare my fiber for the spinning process. Once I got a handle on that, I made an attempt at a fractal yarn. I say attempt because a true fractal yarn consists of 2 separate gradient bobbins, and this skein had one gradient and one solid color. A good first try though. My 2nd-5th skeins all turned out to be relatively okay fractals. What I was personally most impressed with, was how the thickness of the yarn at any given spot was consistent throughout mostly. I guess that happens when you practice haha. Well, that’s all I have for this post. Bye for now :).
